Passing time in a flight seems like the most difficult thing ever. Especially in long journeys after the food has been served, you just don’t know how to kill time. Some people easily go to sleep in aircrafts, but others find it really difficult to sleep in public, on a seat, and if that is your case, you must definitely understand how agonizing that period can be when you’re dead tired but still can’t fall asleep in the flight. A lot of people struggle with this problem and are unable to find the best way to cure this problem. Well the answer certainly isn’t to load yourself on sleeping pills but rather is to find ways of entertaining yourself so you can spend all those hours in a more fun way. You will find lots of people getting on board with books, magazines, iPod’s, and other digital devices to keep themselves busy.

If you are not much of music or movies fan, the best option you have is to play poker. You heard me right. Poker is probably one of your favorite games that you find so little time to enjoy in your daily life. Well this is the time now that you can really enjoy yourself by playing your favorite poker game on board. If you are a social person you will find no difficulty in starting up a conversation with the few passengers near you and soon you will have a whole group of interested passengers who will want to enjoy a game of poker with you. As soon as everyone is finished with their meals you can turn down your food tables and convert that into a poker table. If some passenger is not in the mood of playing poker with you, you can easily request him or her to switch seats with someone else who is willing to join you.

Once you have your poker airplane buddies all set together, you can lay down the food table and start enjoying whatever type of poker game everyone knows how to play. In case you do not have cards with you when you get on board, you can also ask the flight attendants for a deck of cards. In most airlines, sky sales include a very nice deck of playing cards with the airlines logo on it. The flight attendants will gladly let you purchase their signature cards. A little purchase will go a long way in creating a memorable flight for you and your fellow players. You won’t realize how time flies by as you and your group of newly formed pals play away one round after another of your favorite poker game.

This is one of the perfect ways of spending time on a long flight. Before you know it, the flight attendant will be making announcement for landing. You will surely make some great new friends on the flight too. You can stay in contact with them for whenever again you feel like enjoy a poker game.

BeOS is an operating system created by the Be Inc. in 1991. It was constructed for the purposes of multimedia desktop usage. Be Inc. intended BeOS to work for its’ computer program named BeBox, which featured multimedia input and output. It was then made available for use by Macintosh, and later, the PC.

The ‘Personal Edition’ is just one interface of BeOS. People who want to utilize this interface can download it from the internet free of charge. The software also includes a bunch of free games, including poker planes, poker holdem, and freecell. People who are still using old operating systems such as Windows 95 or 98, if ever there are some, can double click an icon to switch from Windows to BeOS. For later versions such as NT 4 or ME, users can utilize a boot floppy to run the BeOS system.

BeOS is similar to the Unix OS, yet what sets it apart is that it’s a single-user system without the usual local security constraints. On its upper right hand corner is the “deskbar.” Although the deskbar is usually found on the upper right hand corner, you can move it to other areas of the screen to make it look like the Windows Operating System. By clicking the deskbar, you can view the different programs you can run on the operating system. If the program has many windows, only one icon can be shown on the screen. You can click on the icon to view a selection of several windows.

The folders and icons can be placed on the desktop. Most icons on the BeOS system link to the Be Inc. website, but unfortunately, it does not exist anymore. Its graphical user interface is at par with that of MacOS and Microsoft Windows. One of the popular features of BEOS is that it utilizes tabs rather than the usual title bars. The title bars make for the unique and fuss-free appearance of BeOS because of the space saved with the tabs.

The file manager of BeOS is called the Tracker, and it is similar to the Explorer of Windows 95 and the Finder of MacOS. With the Tracker, you can see files in a detailed view, or as small icons or normal icons. Despite its similarities with MacOS, the windowing system has the menus in various windows rather than the top portion.

BeOS also has workspaces, which are also known as virtual desktops. Depending on the workspace, it might have its own characteristic screen resolution and background. As a user, you have the freedom to determine the different workspaces that can be used. The web browser of BeOS is called Net Positive. It is similar to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.

Given the ease of access of BeOS, it had a hard time competing with Microsoft. This is because Microsoft specified in its license agreement with original equipment manufacturers that they can’t sell computers that have more than one operating system.

Because of this, Be Inc. decided to focus on working with internet appliances. Unfortunately, it did not work out for the company that well, so Be Inc. decided to close shop.

Those Vietnamese are really good at poker comes as no surprise for poker fans who have seen the familiar sight of men and women running regular businesses, including restaurants, tailoring shops and tenements successfully while conducting all-day long home poker tournaments! However, few of them have been as balanced, faced with tough situations to emerge victorious in internationally renowned gambling events. Hieu Ma (also called Tony Ma) is one of these rare exceptions.

He was born and brought up in Vietnam and grew up to serve his country’s Navy as well for a short period, but April 29, 1975 changed his fate and that of thousands of other South Vietnamese people, all of whom were forced to flee from their native land because of sudden and violent internal political conflict erupting in Vietnam.

Hieu and his family left with about 30 other natives from Vietnam aboard a cargo ship for the Philippines; the family lived here for some time and Hieu supported his family by working at manual jobs like driving a truck and working as a ship welder. Hieu Ma appreciated the opportunity of both these jobs since they helped him provide shelter and warm food for his family due to the fixed income scheme of the jobs.

He did not give up looking for better options.

It was this positive outlook that guided Hieu to try out live Full Tilt Poker casino games to boost his income and he worked out a gaming strategy of earning US$100 daily! His wife shared his enthusiasm for a competitive outlook to the game and supported him whole-heartedly.

By playing regular poker games in live casinos, Hieu was able to build up a sizeable bankroll of $5,000 and he decided to go pro with his gaming. Now, whether it was merely beginner’s luck or something more like fate smiling down on a refugee family that had seen so many hard times, it just so happened that Hieu struck lucky time and again!

The more Hieu Ma played poker aviation, the more he won and was able to hone his poker gaming technical skills in an advanced manner that worked to his advantage. And to think, he had only started playing it to be a good provider for his family!!

But, that was not the only way Hieu’s luck changed. A Bristol-based American called Connecticut sponsored Hieu’s transfer to the US from the Philippines in 1985 and Hieu decided to take the offer and immigrate to California.

By 1987, Hieu and his family had settled down comfortably in Southern California, where the El Monte neighborhood located in Los Angeles, California soon became home to the Vietnamese family that was going to make poker history. Hieu found many card rooms in Southern California offering tournament opportunities and heavy cash prizes for winning to him, but he was slow about grabbing these, being a new immigrant and still cautious about funds.

He reached an EverestPoker tournament final table only in 1993, but it was the prestigious L.A. Poker Classic prelim event for Hold’em shootout games, no less – so that was a confidence booster! In 1996, he won a $5,000 limit Hold’em tournament and his first bracelet, the victory enhanced with the prize of $236,000! He won his 2nd WSOP bracelet in 2000 for the $2,000 LHE tournament with prizes valued at $367,040 but missed his third when he placed 3rd during the Pot Limit Hold’em tournament the same year.

Then in 2004, Hieu won another prelim event – the California State Poker Star Championship and reached the final table by improving his competitive results, though it was one of the few high buy-in events that year that he’d signed up for (the major one being the World Series of Poker). Hieu has over 181 cash games to his credit and total winnings crossing $4.2 million besides being awarded the title of ‘Player of the Year’ in 1999 by CardPlayer magazine.

Tom McEvoy a.k.a “Poker chump” is actually a champ when it comes to his favorite game. He has a good stack of 4 WSOP bracelets and multiple authoritative poker guidebooks to his credit, making him one of the pro poker’s truly enduring and consistently successful players. Tom created poker history by being the first to win in a WSOP event only simply entering a satellite tournament.

His hometown is Grand Rapids in Michigan area is a far cry from his current location, which is Las Vegas – the gaming capital of the world! He lived there with his wife and 3 grown children for many years; however, Tom is now single. This US poker star entered the world on November 14 and just 5 years down the line, while still on his grandmother’s knee, he started playing cards. Now, that’s what’s called an early and comfortable start!

Though fulltilt pro poker leanings are always easy to detect at such an early age even, it was during his growing up years that Tom found a particular liking for No Limit Texas Hold’em and his second favorite game – Pot Limit Omaha!

This erstwhile accountant who is considered a poker guru would never have gotten into professional poker tournaments had it not been for a sudden career wrenching that put Tom out of a job. That was 1978 and poker was still a hobby with him. However, destiny had it laid out differently for Tom and he had the time and the skills to turn his hobby into a full time career when he found

The poker circuit kept Tom busy, starting 1979 and Tom put in a good three decades of his life into pro poker, giving it a lot of respect and also writing prolifically on the subject. He has had the privilege of getting equally talented poker players as his co-authors for several best selling poker guides, including Linda Johnson, poker legend T.J. CloutierMcEvoy pro and poker star Max Stern, to name a few.

Tom McEvoy won the main event in the 1983 World Series of Poker, which came in close on the heels of his first bracelet earned 6 days ago this honor. Other career highlights for Tom McEvoy include a truly remarkable 37 in-the-money finishes across his career, 18 WSOP final table positions in addition to the 4 WSOP Bracelets mentioned earlier. Of these, Tom has finished 10 times in first place and secured a total career winnings of $2,077,012

He dreams of ‘just one more World Poker Champion’ win and keeps himself still in the poker circuit by training new players, updating his website with lots of tips and strategies for novice poker players besides adding to his collection of UN stamps, indulging his love of movie viewing and fine dining when he’s not thinking of bettering the poker world by hoping for uniform rules, a no-smoking regulation and expecting a strong disciplinary committee formation so players who break rules or abuse are barred from tournaments.

With sentiments that are old school and a spirit that is young, it is no wonder that Tom idolizes T.J. Cloutier, another stalwart of pro poker sharing similar feelings for tournament management.

Tom is also part of an elite team of poker big shots chosen by Poker Stars to be their launch pad team and is ably supported by Chris Moneymaker, Wil Weaton, Isabelle Mercier, Greg Raymer and Evelyn Ng.

It may be shocking but it is a fact that road rage has now shifted to enjoyable gambling platforms, what with the angry poker player a terrible reality of many gaming communities today.

From taunts to abuses to bickering and downright insults hurled at other players, poker etiquette has taken a royal beating in the last decade since online poker became such a huge global phenomenon with bigger bets, bonuses, bots and lots more benefits for regular gamers!

The commonest action taken by most poker houses online, such as FullTiltPoker as their preferred way to check poker taunts is to take away chat privileges of the members that indulge in this hateful activity.

However, at times the frustration that results in members of a poker room exchanging rude comments can be discouraging for new as well as pro poker players who generally don’t quite know what to do in such suck out situations.

Even players who advise others against indulging in such demeaning behavior are known to have lost their peck and indulged in poor poker etiquette – from racist comments to expressing gender biases to poor play mentions or using slang in the poker room etc.

But trash talk is in no way acceptable in any good poker room and if your table is known to have a player that does this frequently, it may be time to find out if there is a strategy behind this practice of his or hers. Sometimes players use poker taunts to psychologically defeat their opponents into getting upset and playing a bad hand or discarding the wrong card, even raising when they don’t really want to.

So, learn to read the signs behind the trash talk or poker taunts at your table and you will be able to defend your play by putting the trash talker on tilt or even intimidating him into some form of passive play! Now, that would be really like turning the tables on someone lacking sporting spirit so go ahead and do it!

Whatever the provocation, never abuse the Party Poker dealer, by action or by words because something like throwing away cards on the table because they weren’t any good or using abusive language is downright immature and clearly reflects your lack of sophistication about the game since the dealer gives out random cards and is not being biased towards you or the others. So, learn to recognize unwarranted behavior and desist from it yourself to avoid being branded a poor player.

Also remember that if some player at your table gets lucky and isn’t really a good player, you must control your feelings of disappointment and not let the frustration show.

Similarly, if a player loses and even if he played a bad game, taunting them on losing the pot is simply bad player spirit, so avoid it. Players with low self esteem and bad tempers are known to call names and spew at losers with phrases like, “Moron – I expected that from you!” or making racist comments like “You fold on spades or clubs because you are a black hater” or even “LOL.” Don’t do this – it is just childish. A Poker taunt isn’t always verbal though and “Slow Rolling” is considered a taunt just as much as cussing or being rude as mentioned above. This is when a player has a winning hand and deliberately waits to declare a show only after others are done showing their hands.

Avoid the above mistakes and you are sure to make friends at the poker table and win the respect of other players by following correct poker etiquette.

Poker players are always talking about tells. The term tells refers to signs that let other players know about what type of hand they are holding. Knowing their opponent’s tells makes it possible for a good poker player to know if they are holding a hand that can beat their opponent or if they should fold.

Some poker players have a knack for identifying tells. However others have no idea how to even begin identifying tells. The good news is that as long as you are willing to put in some hard work, you can learn how to read tells too. One of the things that will make learning how to read tells is know what types of things that you should be looking for. Most people show stress, anxiety, and pleasure in similar ways.

One of the most obvious signs that a FullTilt player is holding a really, really good hand is that they are not really paying any attention to the game. They are acting like they couldn’t care less about what the other players are doing, yet each time it is their turn to bet, they always raise. If a player is acting like this at your table you should fold and hope that you have better luck when the next hand is dealt.

When a person is holding a good hand they will usually experience a rush of adrenaline. Internally this means that their heart rate increases, which you won’t be able to see. Another sign of a sudden rush of adrenaline is that their hands will shake slightly. Don’t automatically assume that if their hand is shaking that they have a good hand; if they are getting towards the end of their chips it might mean that they are starting to get desperate and playing recklessly.

If you notice that one of your opponents glances at their hold card and then promptly glance at their chips, it is probably safe to assume that they have a pretty good hand and that they are trying to decide how much they can hope to bet without being obvious. Nothing is more amusing than watching one of your opponents try to hide the fact that they are holding a good hand. They usually try to do this by acting like the hand they are holding isn’t worth anything but at the same time keep raising.

In addition to looking for tells that a player is holding a good hand you also want to look for signs that they have a lousy hand. There are two really obvious tells that players frequently are unable to quash. The first is that they hold their breath. The more a player bluffs, the more likely they are to hold their breath. This is a tell that most experienced poker players are usually able to overcome.

Another sign that an online poker player does not have as strong a hand as they are hoping for is that they suddenly start to try to intimidate the other players at the table. The most common way that this happens is that the player with the inferior hand will start staring down their opponent. As you get better at reading people you will gradually learn to identify tells that are too subtle for you to notice when you are first starting to play poker.

To a large extent winning poker involves a good degree of luck. Although this is so there are other things to take into consideration as well. Making educated guesses and playing the game using successful strategies helps in the success of many players. Here are some strategies that will enhance the player’s chance at playing.

Fundamental Theorem of Poker

This is the first principle in order to successfully play poker online and was established by David Sklansky in his book, The Theory of Poker. The theorem states that anytime you force your opponents to make a play that wouldn’t be made if your cards were face up, you gain, and if it happens to you instead of the opponent, you lose.

Pot Odds and Poker Probabilities

It is very important for all beginning poker players to know about pot odds. It’s a basic poker concept where you learn how to compare how much you can win to the cost for playing. The probability is calculated by dividing the odds number with the sum of both odds number.

Deception

Deception includes the use of psychological plays and maneuvers. The most popular types of poker deception are bluffing, semi-bluffing and slow-playing. Good poker players make use of poker deception to keep their opponents at bay.

Position

Position refers to where a player, such as Phil Ivey sits in relation to other players. It is good to remember the different poker positions at the table and to understand how they relate to one another.

Reasons to Raise

Among the best reasons to raise are to get more money in the pot when a player has the best hand; to drive out opponents when a player has the best hand; to bluff or semi-bluff; to get a free card; and to gain information.

Reasons to Call

These include seeing more cards; to limit loss in equity; to avoid a re-raise; and to conceal the strength of a player’s hand.

Gap Concept

Every poker player should be aware of this concept. Being conscious of this concept can make or break a player. The idea is that a player needs a better hand to call a raise than to open the pot themselves.

Sandwich Concept

This concept means that the player will need a stronger starting hand than usual to get in the pot. This will increase the chances of winning.

The Check Raise

This is deceiving the opponents. The player will use this strategy to force the other players to open. It can also be used to intimidate other players as no one would want to check raise.

Short-handed Considerations

This lessens the chance of a player holding strong hands. This is a strategy that is ideal for tournaments involving fewer than normal players.

Some of you might not be familiar with BeOS. This is an operating system for personal computers which was developed in 1991 by the Be Inc Company. This was the big deal back then as many saw this operating system grow. Many of you who do know what BeOS is might remember that it was the first operating system to ever run on BeBox hardware.

So, what did they use the BeOS for? The main purpose of this operating system was to work with digital media work. The way it was set up, this was capable of working with other things such as modern hardware facilities; One of those things being systematic multiprocessing. When it would do this sort of processing, all it needed was the right bandwidth, the ability to use pervasive multithreading, preemptive multitasking, and a 64-bit journaling file system. This file system is also known as BFS.

People who were in the technology department liked this as it was clean and cut and straight to the point. The format in which it was written in was C++ as it was easy to program. However, it’s not a UNIX derived system, it was compatible with POSIX.

This was originally designed to work with the AT&T based hardware. But as time moved on, it was able to run on any Power PC based processor. It was the hope that as time moved on, Apple would buy the license to this. Apple was up for this until they found out how much the CEO of the Be company wanted for this operating system.

At the time, Be Ceo wanted two hundred million dollars for this. Naturally, Apple thought this was too much and found that another operating system known as NeXTSTEP step was more the operating system for them. During this time, Apple got a new CEO and when they refused to buy it, they didn’t give Be the design of their latest G3 models which Be said they would need in order to make sure that with their next line of computers BeOS would be able to run on it.

PowerPC started offering the BeOS as a way that you can download it. They offered a CD for customers to use. Many say that Apple’s refusal had a lasting impact on how well this company did. As one will note, it didn’t do all that well really. Soon, Intel put this on their R3 processors, but to no avail, this company lost its prestige. That was the end to that. Making money on this system wasn’t going to really happen so they created a free one that personal computers could use. This was known as BeOS PE.

This just goes to show that some times, things are created and thought to really shape the way technology thinks. However, you find that when they come on the market, they don’t do very good at all. That is just the way it works when you are in the technology creating department.
